JoJo Siwa Reveals the Exact Moment She Realized “Women Are My Gig”
"Men are not my thing…gotta go," she raps in a new TikTok video.
It’s storytime with JoJo Siwa. While partaking in TikTok’s newest “One Thing About Me” challenge, Siwa recalled how two famous women in Hollywood — and a really bad date with a guy — helped her realize ”men are not my thing, women are my gig.”
The “One Thing About Me” challenge is taking TikTok by storm. The trend tasks users to share an untold personal story all while rapping to the beat of Nicki Minaj’s hit track “Super Freak.” Some celebrities are using the challenge to clear up rumors or controversial headlines about themselves as well.
Titled “My Gay Awakening Story,” Siwa recalls the significant role celebrities Demi Lovato and Jenna Dewan played in her LGBTQ journey.

“One thing about me is that when I was 12, Demi Lovato came out with a song called ‘Cool for the Summer,'” Siwa raps. “I really, really liked it and listened to it all the time. I did not know what it meant back then but now that I’m older I know what it means.”

The “Dance Moms” alum then reveals she used to watch Jenna Dewan’s “Magic Mike” “Lip Sync Battle” performance on the daily. “Little me, well, she didn’t know she was gay.”
Fast forward a couple of years later, Siwa went on her first date ever. It was with a guy. She experienced a “gay awakening” when the guy revealed he “wanted to have sex with me.”
“And I, did not want to, never wanted to, grossed out by the thought of it, immediately knew, men are not my thing. Women are my gig, gotta go,” Siwa raps before walking off camera.
Siwa is always keeping it real with her fans — who knew Lovato and Dewan were part of such an intimate detail of her life?
