John Stamos addresses the whole Olsen Twins/’Fuller House’ drama, has mercy

As we eagerly await the premiere of Netflix’s Full House reboot Fuller House, we had resigned ourselves to no Michelle Tanner. But wait! There’s hope!

John Stamos appeared The Today Show Monday to chat with Matt Lauer about Fuller House and his other new show, Fox’s Grandfathered. Lauer took the opportunity to ask what was on all our minds: Is there any chance Michelle Tanner will make a surprise appearance on Fuller House?

“(The Olsen twins) are fully welcome,” Stamos said. “Any time. There was a lot of miscommunication in the press and stuff. But I understood why they didn’t want to come back. They have big lives. They haven’t acted in a while. But I love them dearly and they’re always welcome on our show.”

Back in April, there was controversy re: Mary-Kate and Ashley, who told Women’s Wear Daily they hadn’t heard anything about a potential reunion. Stamos replied to the story in a tweet that said, “I call bullsh-t.”

A few days later, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Olsen twins would not be part of the new series, making them the only original cast members not returning. But wait, we’re not done. In July, a rep for Netflix, where the series reboot will air, stated that there may be some hope for a Michelle cameo after all. Obviously, Netflix wants the Olsens back as much as we do.

And now it seems Uncle Jesse is on board, as well. Either way, we’re glad to hear that any Tanner family drama is effectively squashed.
