John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh are expecting their first child, and here’s what we know
Have mercy! Just when you thought the news of their recent engagement was big, here’s something else that’ll make your heart flutter — John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh are having a baby. Thanks to an endless supply of Full House reruns, we already know how sweet Stamos will be with a little one of his own.
Stamos has had kids on the mind for awhile. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he talked about starting a family and happened to throw McHugh an incredible compliment. “I hope [to have kids],” he said. “That’s always been my plan. It’s just taken me a lot longer than I anticipated. It would be a tragedy if I didn’t have children and I finally found the right woman — the perfect woman.”
Stamos went on to say that his parents would be so proud that he’s settling down with someone great. “I know my parents are smiling down…I know they would love her. She’s a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother.”
Interestingly enough, as the interview happened just about a month ago, it’s pretty obvious that he already knew there was a baby on the way.
Stamos revealed the good news to People, mentioning how he and his fiancée reached the conclusion that they should start trying for kids. Let’s just say that it’s good that he has a solid sense of humor.
"We have the same morals and the same values, that all clicked nicely. So we said, 'Oh, well, maybe we should have a family,'" the actor said. He went on to say that McHugh suggesting trying before their wedding, jokingly stating "Because you’re old."
Even though Stamos is 54, we know he’s got what it takes to handle a newborn.
According to McHugh, who also chatted with People, Stamos was completely taken aback when he got the news.
"The look on John’s face when I told him we were pregnant was priceless," she said. "It was the look of a man who has wanted a family of his own but wasn’t sure it was going to happen for him. Now it is!"
