John Oliver told us why his wife is his hero, now she’s our hero, too
It’s no secret that we are all obsessed with John Oliver. Dude kills it on the regular with his A+ HBO comedy news show Last Week Tonight. Whether he’s starting his own church, taking down mental health stigma,or opening eyes to LGBTQ discrimination, Oliver is always fighting to make the world a more fair and equal place. The fact that he’s super f—ing hilarious in his do-gooding is just the awesomest of bonuses.
So we all know that WE’RE obsessed with John Oliver. The question, of course, becomes who is John Oliver obsessed with?
Well, if you read the headline, you already know it’s his wife. Yes, you can “Awwwwwww” but make sure to save some of that “Awwwwww” for when you hear just WHY Oliver’s wife is his hero.
As the New York Daily News reports, Oliver explained at the 9th Annual Stand Up for Heroes event at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, the reason why his wife, Kate Norley, an Iraq war veteran who served as a U.S. Army medic, has ALL the hero status.
His wife’s perspective keeps Oliver real, and for that, the comedian is eternally grateful.
We love that Oliver took the time to give his wife the love and props she deserves, now she’s OUR hero, too!
