John Oliver seriously has the *best* campaign advice for Donald Trump
Donald Trump is not doing so well in the polls ( THANK GOD). The reality show star is not the type to lose gracefully so on Sunday night’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver offered Trump some legit advice on how to save face: drop out and claim the campaign was a satirical attempt at highlighting the flaws in our political system.
“Just think about how triumphant it would feel to say on national television: ‘I openly ran on a platform of impossibly ignorant proposals steeped in racial bigotry and nobody stopped me,” the comedian said on Last Week Tonight. “In fact, you embraced me for it. What the fuck was that about?”
Oliver’s advice is pretty convincing since it cleverly appeals to Trump’s ego and impressive sense of delusion.
Oliver went as far as providing a concession speech from an actual children’s book that Trump could use. The book, The Kid Who Ran for President is fittingly about a 12-year-old boy who runs for president as a joke. (That might be too on the nose, Oliver.)
Trump, I know it sounds ludicrous on its face, but maybe consider Oliver’s advice and actually Make America Great Again.
