You need to see John Oliver’s bold monologue about the Paris attacks

It’s been just a couple days since the tragic and senseless act of terror on Paris. Millions all over the world have experienced so many emotions, from pure sadness to confusion to fear. But John Oliver is here to express the what we’ve all felt at one point during the aftermath of the Paris attacks: raw, unabashed rage.

Last night on Last Week Tonight, John did what he does best: Spoke the absolute truth. And he didn’t hold back one bit in this expletive-laden monologue that showed him (fittingly) at his angriest we’ve seen. “It’s hardly been 48 hours and much is still unknown, but there are a few things we can say for certain,” he started. “And this is when it actually helps to be on HBO, where those things can be said without restraint. Because after the many necessary and appropriate moments of silence, I’d like to offer you a moment of premium cable profanity.”

And then, John unleashed his fury:

And just like that, we all were emboldened by his brilliant, brazen rant—and tearful. Tearful for Paris, tearful for France, tearful for the world. Tearful for the people who were cruelly taken from this world, for the loved ones of those lost.
