Ellen DeGeneres is “happier than I can even tell you” about John Oliver’s gay bunny book

Leave it to John Oliver to expertly troll Mike Pence in a way that can only be described as blisteringly adorable. The host of Last Week Tonight wrote a children’s book all in the name of trolling the current VP and you guys, it’s just brilliant. It’s so good that Ellen DeGeneres brought him onto her own talk show to show how immensely happy the book makes her. “It makes me happier than I can even tell you,” she told the talk show host on The Ellen Show.
So how did his gay bunny children’s book A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo come to be? Let Oliver explain it to you.
“Mike Pence, who is a man who I think has few qualities to his name, however one thing I love about him is his rabbit. He has a fantastic rabbit,” Oliver says. “I have no beef with his rabbit whatsoever. His rabbit is called Marlon Bundo which is an outstanding name for a bunny. You don’t have to like him to acknowledge that’s an excellent bunny name. You can see, if you have a problem with that bunny, you’re dead inside.”
That’s pretty accurate, tbh. Who hates a bunny?!
“He clearly, to put it in the nicest possible terms, is not a friend to the LGBTQ community, Mike Pence,” Oliver continues. “His family had written a book about his bunny so we on top of that have released our own book about his bunny where his bunny falls in love with another male bunny and gets married because that’s the world we want to live in.”

Yasss, Oliver! And it just gets better from there. Oliver released his gay bunny book at the same time as Pence released his, and Oliver’s is No. 1 on Amazon’s best-selling list. And Oliver’s completely sold out of the first release! And all the proceeds are going to LGBTQ organizations Trevor Project and AIDS United (and The Ellen Show and HBO donated a whopping $10,000 to the Trevor Project already). The best revenge is success, truly. Take that, Pence.
