John Legend finally responded to Chrissy Teigen’s request to become Kim Kardashian’s surrogate…kind of

When you become a surrogate, it’s kinda-sorta a big deal. That’s why we were all shocked that the sweet Chrissy Teigen requested to become Kim Kardashian’s surrogate after it was revealed that Kardashian might not be able to have more children naturally. While it’s such a big gesture, there’s someone that Teigen should have probably run that by first… her husband, John Legend.

Teigen and Legend are the parents to Luna, an adorable little girl who’s less than a year old. And if you follow the pair on social media, you know that they’ve been in love with both pregnancy and parenting.

"I would be her surrogate in a second," Teigen said in an interview. "I really enjoyed the pregnancy process. I loved it. Yes. In a heartbeat."

Legend, however, likely thinks that his wife should slow down for just a second or two.

When interviewed by ‘E! Live From The Red Carpet’ right before last night’s AMAs, he had this to say:

"Umm, we haven't discussed this. We'll talk about it later."

 While a pretty ordinary and reasonable quote, one thing truly set it apart — his nerves.

Then again, those nerves could have been based on his upcoming performance — Legend sang his new song, “Love Me Now,” at the big event.

As for Kardashian, her struggles with possibly having a third child were revealed on a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Already a mother of two, Kardashian had difficulty with birthing both North and Saint West, and was well aware that a third pregnancy might put her health (or life) at risk.

 While Teigen, a friend of the Kardashian family, wouldn’t be a bad choice to step in, Legend might be thinking of expanding his own family first.

After becoming pregnant through IVF, Teigen expressed that there was no stopping anytime soon.

"I think I’ll probably be pregnant all through my 30s," she said in an interview with Self. "It’ll be heartbreaking if it doesn’t end up happening, but hopefully it will."

 No matter what happens, we think it’s amazing for Chrissy Teigen to even make the offer. (And, we hope she has a long chat with her husband about it soon.)
