John Legend has thoughts about the public’s obsession with his daughter Luna
If you frequent this website often, you’ll know that we are big fans of Chrissy Teigen, her husband John Legend, and their adorable daughter Luna. We’re not alone — everyone loves the Legend-Teigen family, especially little Luna. In fact, some would even say that because Teigen and Legend are so comfortable sharing images and videos of their daughter, the public is a fan of Luna just as much as they are a fan of her parents.
A fan shared a pic of her own kid, who she called Luna’s twin, online recently. Another fan joked that Luna should run for president. While other celebrities like Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher and even Katie Holmes are incredibly private about their children, the Legend-Teigen brood is fine sharing certain elements of their and Luna’s life.
"I’m comfortable with it," Legend told People of the public's interest in his daughter's life. "I think we share what we want to share, and we don’t share the things we don’t want to share. I think we’re able to edit the way that we’re presented in a way that actually gives us more control than previous eras. So some people are a little worried about social media in that way, but the positive side is that it gives you control over your own image and control over what you share with people.
It’s true what Legend says about social media and privacy. Before social media, if a celebrity stepped outside their home they would be photographed, without their knowledge or will, and those photographs would end up in a tabloid for public consumption. Now pubic figures can pick and choose what elements of their life they want to share, which makes invasive paparazzi shots less valuable and gives the famous person more power over their private life.
