John Legend spilled on when he fell for Chrissy Teigen, and it was SUPER early!
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend give us all sorts of major squishy feelings and #relationshipgoals. Thanks to John Legend’s recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, we’re awwwing all over again. When Entertainment Tonight asked about his relationship with Chrissy Teigen, he replied:
“I fell in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters.”
We know that Chrissy and John first met on the set of his music video for Stereo, and it’s clear from the video that there were sparks:

But it was her personality that drew him:
“[At the beginning of our relationship] we were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humor,” John said. “We would talk on the phone, and I started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is.”
John continued:
“I wasn’t nervous about it,” Legend continued. Then he gave one of the best explanations we’ve ever seen for “butterflies in your stomach:”
“When you feel a real connection to somebody, for me it wasn’t nerves, it was more like excitement. ‘Oh, this could be great.’”
And it was! The couple have been happily married since 2013, and he can often be seen on the set of Lip Sync Battle supporting his wife. In fact, their love is so unique the duo sold a television pilot based on their relationship. We can’t get enough of those two lovebirds!
