John Legend cleared up what really happened in that recent airport experience

ICYMI, John Legend being robbed was in the news lately. Now, John Legend cleared up what really happened in that Kennedy Airport experience on March 23rd, reported Mashable. The other day, the New York Daily News reported that a cab driver allegedly stole Legend’s bag — containing approximately $30,000 worth of belongings (!). It happened when Legend supposedly spoke with the driver after Legend got off of a flight from France, New York Daily News stated, E! News reported. Law enforcement officials apparently recognized the man in the security footage, caught him, and Legend got his bag back. Some media outlets thought Legend’s driver took the bag, but that was not the case.

So what went down? Legend clarified the situation on Twitter.

"The bag was taken because it was left unattended," Legend continued, reported Mashable. "The airport police caught the person who took it (on video) and retrieved my bag."

Ahhhh. So we’re learning a few lessons here, a primary one being: Do not leave your bag unattended — just like airport signs often warn us about. And, luckily, Legend got his bag back — not everyone does, as you probably know.

At least Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, seems to have a good sense of humor about it.

Hah! And Legend does, too.

Of course, that’s a still photo from Jordan Peele’s hit film, Get Out (which you should go see rn, btw). It’s of ~amazing~ TSA Officer Rod Williams, who’s played by Lil Rel Howery.

Again, we’re glad Legend’s bag was returned safely and soundly. And remember: Don’t leave your bags unattended!
