Watch John Krasinski outrun bad guys in the first trailer for “Jack Ryan,” something Jim Halpert would never do
When it comes to office antics, Jim Halpert is known for putting things in Jell-O and sending faxes from the future, and training Dwight to react like Pavlov’s dog with Altoids. But outside the office? He’s probably not going to suit up and try to save the world or anything, since that would distress Pam a lot (us, too). However, if you want to talk about John Krasinski other J-character — a brand new one named Jack — well, this guy is all about kicking butt, taking names, and fighting off the bad guys. There are no high jinks in sight, especially not in this brand new Super Bowl 2018 commercial.
This is a brand new side to Krasinski, one we’ve never seen before. And also, an, ahem, buff side. A buff side that’s going to take us into one of those “oh god what have I done, I have to take a long shower and think about my choices” scenes, so yeah, this looks like a great show! But it’s going to be a little bit more than just Krasinski in a shower.
Later this year, Amazon will release Jack Ryan, which is, yes, that SAME Jack Ryan we’ve met before. The character was created by Tom Clancy, and has spanned 10+ books, and almost half a dozen movies in the last 20 years. Jack Ryan has been played by some of the biggest actors in Hollywood, like Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and now, Mr. Emily Blunt.
As for what this outing with Jack Ryan is going to be about: “When CIA analyst Jack Ryan stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.”
