We’re loving this old stock photoshoot featuring John Boyega

John Boyega: superstar, one of our new Internet boyfriends, stock model. We’ve known about the first two for a while now (because Force Awakens), but the third one just recently came to light, and it’s just tickling us pink. John, for his part, has chosen not to politely ignore these pictures, but rather, embrace them. The world is right now a better place.

Before he became a household name with his image on everything from cereal boxes to soup cans, Boyega starred in the indie flick Attack of the Block. But even before that, he dressed up in some dapper looking clothes and took a whole series of stock pictures, because you do what you gotta do to pay the bills.

Imgur user BEAR_STORM happened to be wandering the halls of their college when they spotted a young Boyega on an educational flyer. You know the type of flyer, because you’ve seen it a bazillion times before: happy kids smiling about financial aid assistance, or study abroad, or getting a flu shot. See that guy in the background? Yup. Boyega.

As the picture began rippling across the Internet, the photographer behind the shoot, Chris Schmidt, even confirmed it was our guy JB, writing on Facebook, “I did an education themed stock photo shoot with a bunch of teenage students; it turns out John Boyega did quite well afterwards. The force is strong with this one.” Eventually, Boyega spotted the picture and shared what he did with his stock model earnings: bought a pair of Air Force 1s.

There are a few other pictures in the series too, that you can check out on Getty. Or buy, if you’re looking for a typical “class demonstration” stock picture. Maybe some day soon you’ll even find Boyega decorating the halls of your own school. We’re definitely taking a closer look at stock photos from now on, that’s for sure.
