Joey King got whacked on the head with Patricia Arquette’s Golden Globe, and TBH, we’re so jealous
It’s all fun and games until someone gets whacked in the head with a Golden Globe award. After January 5th’s 2020 Golden Globes, actress Joey King came to blows with her The Act costar Patricia Arquette’s Golden Globe trophy, which she won for her role as Dee Dee Blanchard in the Hulu miniseries. The encounter left quite the mark, but King doesn’t mind. In fact, she’s honored to have been nearly knocked out by such an object.
"Not everyone can say Patricia Arquette accidentally hit them in the head with her Golden Globe," King captioned a January 6th Instagram post showing off her massive forehead welt. "But I can."
She also posted the photo to Twitter, writing, “Patricia Arquette accidentally hit me in the head with her Golden Globe. That sentence will give me bragging rights for the rest of my life.”
And TBH, we’re so jealous.
Yara Shahidi commented “An honor” on King’s Instagram, and we couldn’t agree more.

What’s even better than seeing the aftermath of the King vs. Globe showdown is actually watching the entire thing happen—which we can do because there’s video evidence of the T.K.O.
InStyle captured the moment on film because it miraculously occurred during the publication’s elevator shoot. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
This is one show we'd pay to see. 🎟@PattyArquette @JoeyKing #InStyleWBGlobes pic.twitter.com/9zTSTSDQxh

Arquette replied to King's tweet: "What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator!"
We are deceased.
What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator! No seriously I’m so sorry sweetest one!

Luckily, King will most likely make a full recovery, and there seem to be no hard feelings between the costars. Accidents are accidents, after all.
Being hit on the head with Patricia Arquette’s Golden Globe is something we never thought we wanted until now. But here we are, adding it to our bucket lists.
