Joe Biden called Donald Trump “a joke,” and, please, tell us more

Ever since Donald Trump succeeded Barack Obama in the white house, the former administration has been cautious on how they talk about the president. The Obamas have been incredibly tight-lipped and rarely speak about Trump, so when former Vice President Joe Biden called Trump “a joke,” the world stopped. Biden tends to speak his mind, but damn.

Here’s the backstory: Trump said that congressional Democrats could be guilty of treason for not clapping during his State of the Union address. “Can we call that treason? Why not?” Trump said during a speech on Monday, February 5th, in Ohio. “They certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much.” A White House spokesperson late revealed that Trump was joking when he threatened treason. Fine. When CNN‘s Chris Cuomo asked Biden about Trump’s treason comment and how it was apparently a joke, Biden clapped back with:

“He’s a joke.”

"I just marvel at some of the things he says and does like, what, two days ago, anybody [who] didn’t stand up and clap for him was un-American and maybe even treasonous, Biden told CNN.

“They say it was tongue-in-cheek; [that] Democrats can’t take a joke,” Cuomo responded. “Well, let me tell you, he’s a joke,” Biden said with complete seriousness.

Listen, we’re not saying that comments like this mean Biden should be the president in 2020, but we will take this opportunity to remind everyone of the very loose speculation that Biden is eyeing a 2020 presidential run.
