Get your resume ready — these are the jobs with the best work-life balance
Having a fabulous job you love is great, but you also want to have, you know, a life outside the office. However, with a lot of *dream jobs*, it’s really difficult to balance a crazy-hectic workload with day-to-day living. Luckily, career website Glassdoor has done a bunch of research and compiled a report on the top 25 best jobs for work-life balance.
Using a five-point scale (five meaning very satisfied), employees rated their jobs on the site over the past year. While overall work-life balance satisfaction has gone down — the rating was an average of 3.5 in 2009, 3.4 in 2012, and 3.2 thus far in 2015, according to the report — there are some jobs that have a much higher rating.
Interestingly enough, 10 of the 25 jobs are in tech. . . unexpected, since tech tends to be associated with long hours and massive workloads. Then again, major tech companies have been working to increase their benefits and overall satisfaction for employees, so it seems to be working.
Overall, the majority of the positions require you to spend lots of time on the Interwebz (something many of us are quite good at as it is). Maybe that’s because it’s easier to keep focused when you don’t have to worry so much about meetings, office politics, and interpersonal contact. Oh, Internet, how we love you.
Here’s the entire list — oh, and by the way, yes, these jobs are hiring, because one of the qualifications to be considered for the report was that they had to have at least 200 active listings to be considered. SCOOOORE. Grab your resume and start applying before they all get filled up.
