Jennifer Lawrence continues her reign of awesome with a visit to a children’s hospital
J-Law: Who has captured our hearts quite like she has? We thought we couldn’t love Jennifer Lawrence more than we already do, but we were totally wrong. Last Friday, despite her ultra-busy schedule while filming X-Men: Apocalypse in Canada, she decided to pop in to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal to visit with the kids. She’s a superhero both on-screen and off.
“A very special visitor stopped by our Canada hospital today,” the hospital posted on its Facebook page. “Jennifer Lawrence is in Montreal filming a new movie and she made time to visit some of our #ShrinersCanada kids and staff. Everyone had a great time!”
The hospital also posted pics of J-Law hangin’ out with the kids and signing casts. Raddest autograph ever, right?
She made a few new friends, too! “You never know who might visit @ShrinersCanada!” the hospital tweeted on Friday about Jennifer’s surprise visit.
The Hunger Games star is a massive hit among kids, and many view Katniss Everdeen as their hero, so the fact that J-Law took a break from filming to spend some time with kids who are struggling with battles no child should ever have to face — yeah, that’s pretty darn heroic.
J-Law isn’t the only movie star who’s been surprising kids in the hospital recently. In fact, earlier this month, the cast of the upcoming Ghostbusters remake — Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones — showed up to Tufts Medical Center in New England, decked out in full uniform to put a smile on the faces of many.
Yep, faith in humanity restored. It’s always so wonderful to see celebs giving back to the kids who look up to them oh so much. What a beautiful world we live in.
