JK Rowling’s Twitter exchange with this ‘Harry Potter’ star is hilarious
Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally called-out on Twitter by JK Rowling. Not too many people fall into this elite category, but the group does now have a brand new member: Neville Longbottom.
As you’ve probably noticed, the guy behind Neville for all eight Harry Potter movies, Matthew Lewis, has grown into a very strapping young man. I’m just telling it like it is. Turns out other people have noticed that, too, and he recently graced the cover of Attitude magazine, posing with his shirt partially off. Inside the pages, he’s also featured in little more than an open button-down shirt and a pair of briefs.
Yeah, that didn’t go over so well with mama bear JK Rowling. She tweeted out her initial reaction, which was actually hilarious.
“Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus” is the best, because for that Broadway Play, Daniel Radcliffe (otherwise known as Harry P.) stripped down to, well, nothing for the audience. So for Rowling, this photo shoot falls short of that, but she’s still not letting Lewis get away with it.
Lewis was quick to respond to Rowling with an apology, but she had the final say in the matter:
Malfoy’s dad got involved in the Hogwarts affair, too, and this Twitter situation just got better and better.
Lesson learned. All you Harry Potter stars, fairy godmother Rowling is keeping tabs and she’d like a little heads up if you’re going to dress down.
