We’re so excited for a peek at the new J.K. Rowling HBO miniseries
Every time a J.K. Rowling book comes to the screen, we stand up and cheer, and the HBO miniseries adaptation of J.K’s first post-Potter book, small town mystery “The Casual Vacancy,” is no exception.
The miniseries is a joint production between HBO and the BBC (BBC viewers got all the Rowling goodness this Febs, while we HBO watchers have to wait until April, we’ll try not to be TOO jels)
For those of you who need a refresher course, “The Casual Vacancy” takes place in the small English town of Pagford, and opens with the death of Parish Councillor Barry Fairbrother. His seat now vacant, the town holds an election to fill his place, but those campaigning quickly find their darkest secrets revealed, throwing the town into chaos.
“Everyone’s got skeletons in their closet,” the trailer promises us. “Everyone’s got something.”
Check out the trailer and get ready to get your mystery-solving pants on!
Parts one and two of the miniseries will air on HBO on Wednesday, April 29th, and part three will air Thursday, April 30th. We’ll be counting the days along with all the other Rowling-ites!
