J.K. Rowling just sent the best message of support to anyone struggling during the holidays
Oh, J. K. Rowling, how we love thee. Just when we think we can’t be more obsessed, the beloved author does something else that makes us cheer. Today, it’s J. K. Rowling’s Christmas tweets that have warmed our hearts.
ICYMI, Rowling’s Twitter presence is consistently spot-on: Rowling’s amazing tweets after the election were a bright spot on a tense day. We also just found out that Rowling is writing two new books (Merry Christmas to us!), so she’s done a lot to improve our 2016.
Rowling’s string of holiday tweets is really perfect for anyone who’s having a hard time this year. And, TBH, it feels like more people than ever are experiencing a less-than-merry holiday season. Luckily, Rowling’s words of support are here. She starts by thanking fans for their Christmas wishes.

Next, she hits us with some serious holiday wisdom.
At this time of year, we’re bombarded with images of perfect lives, which bear as little relation to reality as tinsel does to gold. 3/12

Rowling follows that by acknowledging that those who are with loved ones are lucky.
If you’re lucky enough to be with the people you love, warm and safe, with enough to eat, I’m sure you feel as blessed as I do. 4/12

After that, she gently reminds us that bad times don’t last forever.
But if your life is currently full of difficulties; if you aren’t where you want to be, either literally or figuratively, 5/12

Rowling also reveals how she felt when she was struggling.

It’s easy to forget that Rowling struggled financially as a young mother. Back then, she thought she’d never get her books published. But after struggling, she’s now one of the most famous authors in the world. Rowling reminds us that her life took a drastic turn for the better. Now, she’s doing what she loves, and writing even more books.
You never know what the future holds. Astonishing reversals of fortune happen every minute. 8/12

Then, she encourages her followers to be kind to themselves — after all, a holiday is just a day. It doesn’t have to be a barometer for what’s good or bad in a person’s life.
Remember, Christmas Day is, in the end, just a day. It isn’t a test or a scorecard of you or your life, so be kind to yourself ❤️ 11/12
