JK Rowling just confirmed how many “Fantastic Beasts” movies are coming, and it’s WAY more than we thought
According to Numerology.com, the number 5 is “the most dynamic and energetic” of numbers. So perhaps that’s why we started screaming with excitement when we learned from the mistress of magic herself, JK Rowling, that there would be not one, not three, but five “Fantastic Beasts” films:
"We always knew it was going to be more than one movie, we knew that from the start," Rowling told a crowd at a special event for her upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. "We set a trilogy as a placeholder because we knew there would be more than one movie. But now I think we can say — I’ve now done the plotting properly, so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be five movies."
Or it could just be ol’ fashion happiness at the idea that the Potter universe continues to expand, even though the original series has concluded.
And for those of us who worried JK Rowling was pulling our leg, or perhaps had come under some sort of spell, she Tweeted the news herself:
5. Five. Cinq. Fünf. Cinco. Cinque. https://t.co/t8UVZMtO8V

We. Are. So. Happy.
For those of you who have been living under a rock , Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a spin-off and prequel to the Harry Potterfilms. Even cooler, it takes place in 1920s New York!
Rowling also admitted at the panel that she was considering the idea of a film that explored the Dumbledore-Grindelwald relationship. Their relationship was a side story in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and barely mentioned in the film. In the book’s lore, the duel between former friends ended the Global wizarding war. It also was the most important battle between wizards until Lord Voldemort’s rise to power. Sounds perfect for a film treatment.
The first of the now five (eeeee!) Fantastic Beasts films hits theaters this November. We don’t know about you, but the wait just got so much sweeter now that we know there are four more!
