“Star Trek” director J.J. Abrams shared the most beautiful tribute to Anton Yelchin

The world has been mourning the massive loss of 27-year-old Anton Yelchin, who died in a freak accident on Sunday. Fans and celebrities alike are remembering the extremely talented young actor after his life was taken away far too soon, and now, J.J. Abrams shared the most beautiful handwritten note about his lost friend and colleague that is pulling at our heartstrings.

“Anton, you were brilliant,” the director — who worked with Anton in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness — wrote in the note posted to Twitter by his production company, Bad Robot. “You were kind. You were funny as hell, and supremely talented. And you weren’t here nearly long enough. Missing you. . . ” false

Various other Star Trek cast and crew members have been taking to social media to remember Anton and post tributes of their own.

“[O]ur dear friend,” wrote Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the film series, on Instagram. “[O]ur comrade. our anton. . .so enormously talented and generous of heart. wise beyond his years. and gone before his time [sic].”

John Cho, who plays Sulu in the series, also took to Twitter to share his grief. “I loved Anton Yelchin so much,” he wrote. “He was a true artist — curious, beautiful, courageous. He was a great pal and a great son. I’m in ruins. . . Please send your love to Anton’s family right now. They need it.” false false
