Jimmy Kimmel compared Donald Trump to buying a weird shirt, and it actually makes lots of sense
There’s no question that the upcoming election has our country divided. And with division comes a lot of passion and some really, really strong opinions about who’s best suited to be the next president of the United States. We’re living in a Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton world right now, and there’s no way out of it (aside from like, moving to Canada).
Many people are terrified of Trump potentially becoming ruler of the free world — even some of the people who voted for him. According to a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 52 percent of Republicans who voted for Trump to become the Republican nominee wish they hadn’t.
And on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday,Jimmy Kimmel made the greatest analogy ever when he compared Trump to buying a crazy patterned shirt you see in the store.
“You look around, you see all these shirts – plain patterns, regular shirts, maybe a shirt with pinstripes – they look okay, but nothing exciting,” Kimmel said. “But then, packed in with all these other shirts, you see this totally awesome shirt. It’s bold, it’s different, it doesn’t play by the other shirts’ rules. You think about what a killer you’d feel like going out with this shirt on, so you buy it. Then you get home and you go into your closet or wherever, and you try the shirt on, and you look at yourself in the mirror. Then your wife walks in.”
To demonstrate exactly what he means, he recruited his real-life wife Molly McNearney to ask him, “What the hell are you wearing?”
“And then you realize you look like a tool with a big capital T,” Kimmel said. “But fortunately, the store you bought from has a great return policy. Oh wait, no it doesn’t, this is the shirt you’re stuck with for four years.”
