Jim Parsons and Taraji P. Henson ALSO just bought out screenings of “Hidden Figures” for people who couldn’t afford tickets

Clearly there’s something special in the air, because it was just last week that Octavia Spencer bought out a screening of her film Hidden Figures for low-income families who couldn’t afford it, and the selfless deeds keep on coming.

Her fellow costars Jim Parsons and Taraji P. Henson have bought out screenings too! Way to pay it forward, guys.

It’s great that this film is being so widely seen, and that the actors involved feel passionate enough to share it with audiences far and wide. Because, in case you didn’t know, it’s based on the true story of the female African-American mathematicians who helped America win the space race. And we don’t get to see stories like this on the big screen too often.

According to The AV Club, Henson bought the largest auditorium at an AMC complex in her adopted hometown of Chicago to ensure that “people who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to see it” could get a seat. Parsons was on hand to buy out a screening in his native city of Houston.

Isn’t it great to start off the week with these good vibes? We just adore the generosity behind these gestures, and we’re so glad that a few people who may never have been able to see this important story in theaters were given the chance.

The story is really for everyone to enjoy, not to mention the fact that it’s a hugely important showcase of intelligent women who paved the way for some of NASA’s biggest accomplishments. Not to mention, these women were absolutely remarkable.
