Jim Carrey and Hugh Jackman swap roles, literally
Happy Friday! Need a little actor-swapping in your life today? Hugh Jackman and Jim Carrey have you covered.
Jackman recently discovered the wonders of Dubsmash, and for this, we are thankful. He first tested out his syncing ability with Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” and we must say, he did a pretty good job. But now he’s stepping into nostalgia territory with his latest Dubsmash.
Remember 1994’s The Mask?? It starred Jim Carrey who found a mask, and well, turned into The Mask. His signature catchphrase was “SMOKIN’” — and it turns out Jackman does a mean impression of Carrey’s character, catchphrase and all. Check it out.
Jackman mentions in his caption that he’s “trying [his] best” to do Carrey’s role justice. Think he does a pretty good job, no?
Even though he wasn’t even challenged to a role-off, one has now clearly begun.
Carrey, never to be outdone, decided he needed to try his hand at one of Jackman’s best roles: Wolverine. Since adamantium isn’t readily available, better grab some kitchen utensils instead.
Major bonus points to Carrey for nailing Wolverine’s hair-do, too.
Now imagine a world where Jackman really played The Mask (opposite Cameron Diaz) and Carrey’s an X-Men. Freaky, right?
Jackman appears to have crowned Carrey victorious in this swap, but that doesn’t mean he still can’t one-up him. What role could he do next? How about Truman from The Truman Show, or Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber? Your move, Jackman. We’re (very excitedly) waiting.
