Jim and Jeannie Gaffigan wrote some honest Valentines for married couples
Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and appreciation, whether that be for guys, gals, or your pals. Love is always magical, but for married couples, it’s a whole new breed of romance. You’ve been with this person for so long and so consistently that your love is sometimes expressed a little…differently. Jim and Jeannie Gaffigan feel you.
The comedian and his wife (and writing partner!) sat down with Glamour to create a short video all about those special, honest Valentines you wish you could give to your significant other. And, to be honest, the duo’s cards are so hilarious, you just might.
Of course, they start by expressing their true and meaningful love, but it slowly devolves into subtle ways to say the things we really mean, before just flat out saying them. While relationships are first and foremost about that special bond between you and your partner, it’s also about the little things, like cleaning up each other’s messes and dealing with those tiring arguments.
For married couples, or even those who have been in long-term relationships, it’s so relatable, and a good reminder of how special love can be, even in the face of minor (and not so minor) differences. The one thing we all have in common? Loving Jim and Jeannie Gaffigan. Now those are two Valentines we’ll never get tired of.
