Jessica of The Veronica’s made these amazing points about saving the ocean, and we’re cheering
We have so much love for celebs that make good use of their platforms. Like, serious respect, guys. Yesterday, Jessica of The Veronica‘s opened up about saving the ocean and how we put sea creatures in danger with our behavior. Considering how much damage continues to be done to our planet, it’s so important to talk about how we can change things for the better.
Jessica shared her sympathy for sharks, saying,
"Despite the irrational fear people have about sharks, they do not hold a 'personal vendetta' against humans. They are an integral part of a healthy marine ecosystem."

Because, at the end of the day, she says, this planet isn’t just for us.
"The oceans do not exist purely for human recreation. When we enter the oceans we must all appreciate we are stepping into a territory that is governed by many important, apex predators & marine life. Human pleasure should not take precedence over the health & protection of this planet."

And it’s time to act and begin saving the ocean.
"We can not continue to sit back and stay quiet about how this harmful mindset continues to perpetuate fear and violence, instead of compassion and progression."

And fans are *so* happy to see her speaking out. One commenter said,
"I just want to say thank you so so much for speaking out for the sharks. As a zoologist I find it frustrating dealing with people that don't understand the ecological impact of culling a keystone species and/or predators! You kept your cool and did a wonderful job, keep doing what you do. 💕🙌"
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves!
