Jessica Simpson’s Latest Instagram Video Sparks Concerns from Fans
The singer appears in a new ad 100 lbs lighter; fans claim her voice sounds "off."
From singer to entrepreneur, Jessica Simpson knows how to grab the world’s attention. Her latest move includes launching a new homewares collaboration with Pottery Barn Kids, inspired by her own children.
Along with her creative designs, people are also noticing the personal changes she undertook in the last few years — and not necessarily in a positive way, according to her fans.
“I just really don’t think that there’s any risk you can’t take,” Simpson wrote in an Instagram caption promoting the new line, on her personal account. The video shows a tour of a play room put together with Pottery Barn Kids items for the singer’s 3-year-old daughter, Birdie.
But it isn’t the stylish room that had people talking. Comments on the Instagram post shared concern that her voice sounds strange compared to her usually bubbly demeanor — and her physical appearance seems to have changed drastically too.

“Please tell me I’m not the only one that hears her voice being totally slow…” said IG @usermelly1980s. “Is she ok?!?!
“Why does she talk like that now,” adds IG user @lavidal95 “It’s just strange, it’s in every video of her talking. Like she is trying really hard to get the words right.”
Simpson’s appearance has always been a hot topic for media outlets. The artist was once mocked after sporting a pair of high-waisted jeans, and has struggled with weight gain between the pregnancies of her three children, weighing over 240 pounds before going on a recent health kick, according to In Touch Weekly.
Since 2019 though, she’s admitted to losing at least 100 pounds through a regiment of diet and exercise.
“I went to a nutritionist, and I needed to get my eating habits right,” she explains in an interview with Extra’s Terri Seymour. “I absolutely feel healthy.”
As celebrities continue to try new methods towards quicker weight loss, however, it’s no surprise people are concerned if other factors may be at play.
It’s been reported that Simpson is a fan of the Body Reset Diet plan, a 15-day weight loss plan that involves small, low-calorie meals, smoothies, and snacks, with recipes designed by her personal trainer Harley Pasternak.
“I feel like my old self before I had children and all the hormones going wild,” Simpson adds. “I feel younger, actually. I have a lot more energy.”
The singer-turned-clothing designer has used Instagram as a platform for promoting her own fashion line and isn’t afraid to post a few bikini photos every now and then.
And while many continue to comment on her weight, she does her best to be chipper and body positive.
“I’ve been criticized, and it hurts,” she explained to Seymour. “But I’ve been every weight and I’ve been proud of it. I decided, ‘Okay, everybody is going to talk about my weight all the time, I might as well make money off of it and turn it into a business of selling clothes and acceptance.'”
