The first teaser for “The Defenders” is here, and Jessica Jones is taking charge

Jessica Jones won’t be returning in her own series for awhile, but she is returning in Marvel’s The Defenders series on Netflix this Fall. And in the first teaser for The Defenders, Jessica is the one taking charge.

That’s right, the highly anticipated Netflix show that brings Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist together finally has a teaser. And it was pretty well disguised. At first glance, it just looks like some casual 15-second footage from an elevator security camera. But this footage is packed with clues. Let’s take a look:

It’s pretty quick but you can clearly see our four heroes in the elevator, along with a clock ticking at the top right (more about that later), and an IP address at the top left. If you type in that IP address, you’ll be taken to a website for the New York Bulletin — which features covers of the fake newspaper along with other info from the Marvel/Netflix TV universe.

Anyway, let’s get back to the video. Once Jessica notices the camera, she swiftly takes action because she’s obviously not gonna take any crap from this group. She knows how to get stuff done.

You could probably watch that on repeat, right?! Well, quickly take a look at that clock in the upper right hand corner again. At the end of the show, it clearly reads 08:18:20:17. So basically we’ve now got a date for the premiere of The Defenders. Pretty cool, right? You can watch the full footage here:

We’re so excited for The Defenders to be available on Netflix beginning August 18th, 2017. Now’s the perfect time to re-watch all of the individual shows to prep. Go ahead, start binging!
