Jessica Chastain opens up about being shy in Hollywood and we applaud her openness
Despite being a major actress, Jessica Chastain is very shy and now she’s opening up about how she deals with that in the Hollywood environment. Trust us, it’s not as easy as it sounds.
On Wednesday’s episode of Inside the Actor’s Studio, Chastain opened up about how shy she really is and as she spoke about it, she started to panic.
“I’m almost having a breakdown right now,” the 39-year-old actress told the show’s host, James Lipton.
“You’re still shy?” Lipton asked. “Yes, I’m so shy,” Chastain replied, getting nervous as she spoke.
"It's a strange thing, acting for me has never been about wanting attention or wanting to be seen," the Miss Sloane actress revealed. "It's funny that I'm in a profession where that's where I am."
Despite her overwhelming shyness at times, Chastain has managed to have a very successful career. For starters she has more than 40 acting roles to her name. The redhead beauty has been nominated for two Academy Awards, which is a HUGE deal.
Most recently she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama for her Miss Sloane role for the upcoming 2017 Golden Globes. She’s already won a Golden Globe for her Zero Dark Thirty performance. Basically, she is kicking butt and overcoming her shyness — slowly — in the process.
"There's so much that I want to express, " Chastain explained on the show. "It's about connecting with another person and the intimacy of what that is, and so I have to overcome my shyness."
Even though it’s a struggle, we salute you Jessica, for facing your fears and doing what you love. After all, you’re a movie rockstar, so we need you to keep battling that shyness!
