Jessica Chastain just signed on to play this legendary screen siren, and the casting is truly divine
We’re all about what Jessica Chastain’s been up to. Now, Jessica Chastain just signed on to play this role as a legendary screen siren, reported Deadline Hollywood, and the casting is truly divine. ICYMI, that siren is none other than Casablanca star Ingrid Bergman. The film’s called Seducing Ingrid Bergman, and Chastain will not only star, but her Freckle Films has teamed up with YRF Entertainment to produce the movie.
The plot? It’s based on the novel of the same name about the real-life affair between Bergman and famous war photographer Robert Capa.
Bergman and Capa’s relationship began in Paris right after WWII, then moved to Hollywood during the McCarthy Communist witch hunts, according to Deadline Hollywood. Sounds intriguing, right?!
Chris Greenhalgh wrote the book, which came out in 2012. Arash Amel wrote the script and will also produce.
“We are thrilled to be working with YRF and Arash Amel on Seducing Ingrid Bergman, said Freckle Films’ founder-president Chastain and Carmichael, reported Deadline Hollywood. “This is a captivating story about a deeply moving romance between two remarkable people.
Of course, we could not be more excited that Chastain is playing Bergman.
Chastain is “the perfect actress to star in Seducing Ingrid Bergman, said YRF chief executive officer Uday Chopra, reported Deadline Hollywood. “Jessica is no stranger to portraying strong, intelligent women and this role deserves an actress of her immeasurable talent. We also feel that she will bring a unique perspective as a producer.
We definitely applaud that!
