Jessica Biel opened up about the struggles of being a working mom

It’s hard to be a working mom. Striking a balance between work and family life is tough. Plus, taking care of a child can be super exhausting. Working all day to come home and change to the mom role takes a lot out of you. Jessica Biel knows the work/life balance struggle all too well.

Jessica Biel talked about working and raising her son Silas with Ryan Seacrest and Busy Philipps on Live With Kelly & Ryan, and she got super honest about it.

Biel, who has a 2-year-old son with husband Justin Timberlake, says that sometimes she feels “stretched thin everywhere.”

"It's hard. Trying to find a balance between work and family and just being an independent human...You’re stretched thin kind of everywhere, and it’s been amazing creatively but really hard. I think every working parent must feel the same."

It’s difficult when you have to balance multiple roles in your professional and personal life. Especially when it involves a young child that depends on you. And toddlers sure know how to create mayhem if you’re not paying 100% attention.

"I don't think you ever master finding the balance. You master it, and then your kids are grown up. And then you're home alone and sad!"

Biel also recently chatted with ET about working and raising her son. She said that she can never turn off the mom role.

"You don't have a choice. It's called get in the car, open the front door and you better be Mom, because nobody cares what you did all day. My work, I leave it at work. I don't bring it home," Biel said. "I mean, yes, I'm exhausted and sometimes I need like, a glass of wine and to just hang out. But you got to let it go. You have a 2-year-old who just wants to play with you and that's what's most important."

It’s great to see actresses like Biel talk about the struggles of motherhood. Mothers can’t be perfect all of the time. It’s okay to be “stretched thin” and we’re glad to see her acknowledge the struggle!
