Jessica Alba is proof that we all need more turtlenecks and that they are shockingly sexy
Nobody serves French inspired chic like Jessica Alba, who showed up to co-host the opening of Ladurée (the famous French luxury bakery and sweets shop) at The Grove in Los Angeles in the most darling black and white stripe skirt. She also showed up to prove that we all need more black turtlenecks, ASAP. The actress, mother and entrepreneur whipped out this classic closet staple and we’ve never been more inspired. Jessica glammed it up at the event which partnered with Baby2Baby, an organization that “provides low-income children ages 0-12 with diapers, clothing, and all the basic necessities that every child deserves.” Already CEO of the massively popular Honest Company — which offers only non-toxic or organic household products — Alba didn’t have to look this cute to prove that she’s down for the cause. But she did, because she’s Jessica Alba.
Très chic, Ms. Alba!
Is there a better backdrop than a wall of perfectly dainty French macarons? Jessica blends right in, offering French flair to the celebration with a classic black and white stripe combo. She paired the flirty skirt with some black nylons and glossy, zippered ankleboots (the turtleneck of the foot!).
Shiny hair? Check. Mega-watt smile? Check. Alba knows that when it comes to keeping things cute and classic, it starts from within and is all about confidence. And again – a killer turtleneck.
The actress posted a shoutout welcoming Ladurée to LA and thanking Baby2Baby for its support at the event.
So effortlessly chic. Who doesn’t have a basic turtleneck tucked away in the back of their winter clothes pile? We’re officially about to go fish ours out of wherever we may have stashed it after taking our family Christmas card photo in 2002, but if you’re outta luck, here’s a super soft one for under $8.
The extra perk of the ever-classic turtleneck: no scarf necessary! We knew she was brilliant (how many actors are also successful CEOs?) but this is near genius.
