Jennifer Lopez & Lin-Manuel Miranda just released a new song together for Orlando victims

A couple weeks ago, when Jennifer Lopez posted a selfie with Lin-Manuel Miranda in the background, we had LOTS of questions. Were the two just hanging out as friends, defining the term #SQUADGOALS in the process? Were they working on a secret project? A song?! Oh please please please, we thought, let them be working on a song together!

Finally, our questions have been answered, and our dreams have come true: JLo and Lin-Manuel (or #JLin as Jennifer hashtagged her photo) just released a song called “Love Make The World Go Round.” J.Lo shared the link to the song and some of the lyrics on her Instagram this morning.

A tribute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting, “LMTWGR” is a catchy, inspiring, dance-party-worthy anthem about love conquering all, and it’s available for download on iTunes. Lin-Manuel posted this preview on Twitter earlier this week:

All proceeds from the song will be donated to the Somos Orlando, an amazing initiative from the Hispanic Federation that provides mental health support to the friends, family, and survivors of the attack, and the Orlando community at large. “Love Make The World Go Round” is a great song with a great message, but by choosing this charity, JLo and Lin-Manuel also drew attention to a super important and overlooked fact: violence of any kind reverberates out into a community and creates lasting pain and trauma. We have to come together to provide mental health services and healing for those affected.

Thank you to two of our favorite musicians for giving us our new favorite song AND boosting the profile of a much-needed resource for healing.
