Jennifer Lawrence finally explained why she’s in a “My Super Sweet Sixteen” video
You may have heard that some people have been conducting an online search, looking for footage of J. Law on an MTV show she was allegedly on years ago. However, they couldn’t find the episode. So why was Jennifer Lawrence in a My Super Sweet Sixteen video then?
It turns out that an old promo video Lawrence was in for the show started making the rounds online. But, Lawrence was not actually on the show itself, reported Refinery29.
J. Law revealed the news during a Q&A with Chris Pratt for Wired, wherein both actors answered the most googled questions about them. When My Super Sweet 16 came up, this is what J. Law had to say.
“No, I wasn’t on the show, because we weren’t rich and my parents aren’t awful, Lawrence said in the Wired clip. “No offense! My first job was for My Super Sweet 16, so I was acting like one of the Sweet 16 girls, but I was not.

She’s so cute, right?!
Btw, ICYMI, there were actually two TV spots that aired, and you can check out Lawrence in the ads over at MTV. They were from 2005, and My Super Sweet Sixteenwas ~super~ popular then.
The premise (if you haven’t already guessed)? Big, extravagant “sweet 16” parties that go wrong.
Fun fact: Just five years after those commercials with Lawrence aired, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Winter’s Bone. And you may also remember all the awards she won for Silver Linings Playbook in 2013, including an Oscar and a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award.
When Lawrence accepted the SAG Award, guess who was thanked? Yup, MTV!
“I earned my SAG card when I was 14,” she said in her speech. “I did an MTV promo for My Super Sweet 16. And I remember getting it in the mail and it being the best day of my entire life, because it officially made me a professional actor.”
Awwwwwww. Big ups to her for thanking MTV, right? Not to mention, big ups to Lawrence for how far she’s come since those commercials.

Meanwhile, since we’ll no longer be looking for My Super Sweet 16 episodes that don’t exist, we’ll go see something that does, like Passengers.
