Turns out, Jennifer Lawrence is all of us on New Year’s Eve

For some of us, there’s one particular holiday that just feels cursed. I had three bad birthdays in a row and was convinced I was doomed. Turns out, I was just in middle school. Particularly those high-pressure holidays tend to be hard on people, like Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then, of course, there’s New Year’s Eve.

On NYE we all feel the pressure hard to have an amazing outfit, epic plans, and, of course, the perfect kiss at the end of the countdown. And those kinds of sky-high expectations can be a one-way ticket to disappointment.

Apparently, we’re not alone. Jennifer Lawrence also has a REALLY hard time with NYE. In fact, as E! reports, the actress told talk-show host Graham Norton when she appeared on his show on BBC One — a pre-taped episode that will air (appropriately enough), on New Year’s Eve — that she’s never had a great experience with the holiday.

“I really hate it,” Lawrence explained. “I’ve never had a good one. Everyone’s chasing a good time and it’s always a disappointment. I plan on doing nothing and then if something lands in my lap…but I always end up drunk and disappointed.”

Of course, being Jennifer Lawrence, it wasn’t long before she cracked wise about her misfortune.

“Drunk and Disappointed should be the title of my memoir!” she joked.

And instantly, ten million copies of a yet-to-be-written book were pre-ordered on Amazon.

Part of the reason Lawrence is wary of a stressful night is that she is, in her own words, “a puker.”

“When I get stressed and exhausted I just vomit,” Lawrence explained to Norton. “I was driving with my publicist the other day and had to roll down the window and I puked all down the side of the car. It was in front of all the paparazzi—I painted New York! And I threw up at Madonna‘s party—on the porch!”

Actor Eddie Redmayne was also a guest on the show and, wouldn’t you know it, vomiting on Madonna’s property is something the two have in common.

“This is something I have never admitted to the world, but I puked at Madonna’s party, too!” he confessed.

It sounds like Lawrence and Redmayne are due for a super low-key NYE. Couch, board games, one glass of wine max.
