What is Jennifer Lawrence’s net worth? She’s made a lot of Benjamins with Bradley
Jennifer Lawrence may not nominated for an Oscar this year, but that doesn’t mean the brazen beauty is hurting for cash. According to the Sun, Lawrence is reportedly worth about — deep breaths — $120 million. Yes, $120 million. She may trip up the stairs and get drunk on live television, but the Red Sparrow star isn’t clumsy when it comes to her checkbook.
So, where does this $120 million come from exactly? Well, a big chunk comes from the Hunger Games. Lawrence made about $26 million upfront for the films, but she also received a percentage of the profits. Thanks to the series, she was Forbes Highest Paid Celebrity of both 2015 and 2016, pulling in $52 million and $46 million respectively. Some of her other big paydays have included Passengers ($20 million), Joy ($15 million), and her Dior contract ($15 million over three years).
This year, Lawrence pulled in quite a bit less, because she only made two movies (Mother! and Red Sparrow). Neither of those films have made big bucks like some of her other blockbusters. Also, J. Law has decided to take some time off of acting, so that means no big upfront paychecks. Hey, if we had $120 million in the bank we might decide to take a break from the 18-hour workdays and crazy media scrutiny too.
So, what is Lawrence going to do now that she’s taking a break from acting?
She’s devoting her time to activism. Ever since she wrote an essay on the gender wage gap in Hollywood, Lawrence has become more and more active politically. Now, she is working with an organization called Represent.Us that seeks to get young people involved in our political system.
"It doesn't have anything to do with partisan [politics]," Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight of her decision. "It's just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy."
Lawrence is also reportedly making a feminist docu-series with former E! News host Catt Sadler.
We couldn’t be more excited for her new endeavors.
What about the 2018 Oscars?
These are the facts: Lawrence will be there. And she will be presenting the Best Actress award with Jodie Foster! These are the unknowns: Will she take her shoes off? Will we see her drunk persona, Gail? Will she spill more about her plans for the coming year? We are hoping for all of the above, honestly.
