Jennifer Lawrence had to say goodbye to Katniss twice

Mockingjay, Part 2 hits theaters November 20, which means that the Hunger Games movie franchise is coming to a bittersweet end. Sweet, because we absolutely love the story and its characters (personally, I would pay to watch Jennifer Lawrence eating cereal as Katniss – it would probably still be Oscar-worthy), but bitter because this final installment means saying goodbye to a world that’s captivated us since the first book was published in 2008.

Though filming on the last Hunger Games movie wrapped in June 2014, the cast and crew is still working on accepting that the experience is really over. Yesterday, the movie’s three stars, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lawrence, left their mark in front of TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood in a hand and footprint ceremony. In an interview with Us, Jennifer revealed that she couldn’t part with her character, Katniss, in one fell swoop.

Though Jennifer understands that the Hunger Games trilogy and films have affected people all over the world, she does not take credit for Katniss’ awesomeness. Instead, she views herself and the fictional character as two separate entities.

Girl, could you get any more grounded? Obviously, we can’t wait for November 20 and the opening Mockingjay, Part 2. After that, guess we’ll have to get our fill of Lawrence by watching David O. Russell movies.

Check out Jennifer, Josh, and Liam at the handprint ceremony in Hollywood. Not to be weird, but can I get a copy of that brick of cement for my room?
