The wonderful reason why Jennifer Lawrence just donated $2 million to a children’s hospital

Jennifer Lawrence is an Oscar winner (with several additional nominations under her belt), the biggest movie star in the world, a hilarious and loveable girl-next-door, and now a major philanthropist.

And all of those things by the young age of 25.

The Joy actress will be bringing a lot of joy to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after donating $2 million to establish the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In a video announcing the donation, she challenged the community to raise funds to match it.

Her generosity will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of countless children in the future. And it only seems appropriate that her foundation’s focus is on the heart, since she seems to make ours grow a little more every time she does something amazing like this.
