Jennifer Lawrence spent Christmas Eve at a children’s hospital for the 5th year in a row
As if we needed another reason to adore Jennifer Lawrence, the actress spent her Christmas Eve at Norton Children’s Hospital for the fifth year in a row. Norton, located in Lawrence’s hometown, Louisville, Kentucky, is “Kentucky’s only full-service, free-standing pediatric care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for children,” the hospital’s website reads.
In addition to her yearly visits, last year Lawrence donated $2 million to the hospital , which is currently being put toward the new Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
According to ABC News, at the time of her donation, Lawrence stated, "My family and I have met so many wonderful children on our visits to the hospital. Their strength and courage is inspiring. I challenge everyone to give whatever they can to raise an additional $2 million to help."
Alongside their cardiology services, Norton Children’s Hospital, formerly known as Kosair Children’s Hospital, also offers cancer, orthopedic, neuroscience, gynecology and diabetes-related services to children.
The hospital's official Instagram page shared two photos from Lawrence's most recent visit. The first caption reads,"Louisville's own Jennifer Lawrence stopped by Norton Children's Hospital today to visit with patients, families, and staff. This visit has become a tradition for Lawrence each Christmas. Thank you, Jennifer! You sure do bring a smile to all!"
Lawrence also visited with several patients and their families to spread a little joy during the holiday season.
Giving to those in need makes the holiday season so much warmer, and Lawrence’s visit is inspiring us so much today. We hope this annual tradition keeps going strong for years to come!
