A musical reminder of exactly why we love Jennifer Lawrence
How many reasons are we up to in the category, Reasons We Love Jennifer Lawrence? I think it has to be pushing at least, two, maybe even three hundred by now. Well, here’s #301 — she’s afraid of singing in front of people. You mean fearless, JLaw? The girl who can literally do no wrong, no matter what adversary is thrown her way? That same girl. Oh, Jennifer, now we love you even more.
She stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night, to promote the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 — which lands in theaters on November 21st. Well, for those unfamiliar with the book, Lawrence’s character, Katniss, actually has to sing the song,”The Hanging Tree,” during the movie. And according to Lawrence, it wasn’t so much fun. “I do not like singing in front of other people,” she said. “It’s like, my biggest fear. I cried on set that day.” And then the two of them break out into the strangest rendition of “Have A Holly, Jolly Christmas” that you’ll ever hear.

She requested Lorde to “really” sing for her in the movie, and she’d just lip sync along. That request was denied. No matter how good — or bad — it might sound when we flock to the theaters in a week, it’ll just make us love her even more.
