Jennifer Lawrence addressed whether she’ll be avoiding Ryan Seacrest on the Oscars red carpet

While an internal network investigation led to insufficient evidence that Ryan Seacrest sexually harassed a former stylist, E!’s decision to keep Seacrest on board for the 2018 Academy Awards is leaving a lot of celebrities unsure of how to proceed with him on the red carpet.

Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Jennifer Lawrence admitted she’s not sure how to interact with the host at this point, nor is she sure if she’ll avoid him when walking the carpet.

“I think it is scary, you know. He has not been to trial for anything. I am not a judge. I am not a jury,” she said. “I don’t know…that is where this stuff gets tricky.” However, she also brought attention to questionable moves that E! has made in the past regarding the fair treatment of women.

Specifically, she brought up the fact that former host Catt Sadler recently walked away from the network, citing pay disparity between her and her male co-host.

"I have noticed that they keep cycling these women and I am going…is that so you don't have to pay another woman equally to Jason [Kennedy]?" Lawrence asked during the interview. "Is this just a way to still maintain that you are [...] paying women equally?"

Lawrence also noted that she has never been onboard with the E! show Fashion Police, saying “there was a time they were, they were just mean about people’s bodies, things you shouldn’t say.”

At the end of the day, we understand Lawrence’s uncertainty in terms of how to proceed. This is new territory for all of us, but we hope she’ll make the right call when the moment arrives.
