Yes, it’s true: Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have finished writing their movie
We’re one step closer to our favorite movie in the whole world becoming a reality. Jennifer Lawrence confirmed to BBC 6 Music that she and Amy Schumer have finished the first draft of the screenplay they’ve been working on together since August.
“We have finished writing it,” Lawrence said. “We have an official first draft. I am going to try and fit it somewhere into my ghoulish schedule.”
Ghoulish schedule is right. While her four-movie stint with The Hunger Games is over, Jennifer’s still been all over our screens, including the recently released Joy and the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Although that may mean we still have to wait some time before filming is officially underway, Lawrence assured us that it’s going to be worth it, mostly because the writing process was so much fun. “It was hilarious, because when you’re writing a comedy it’s not good enough unless you’re laughing out loud,” she continued. “So I’m laughing at my pages and I’m laughing at her pages and thinking that the whole process is hilarious.”
Oh, how we wish we could have been a fly on the wall in that writing room. Schumer’s success with Trainwreck combined with Lawrence’s kooky humor is the perfect recipe for the next big comedy. “I’m thinking we’ve got a pretty funny, good movie,” Lawrence concluded. We don’t doubt it. I mean, we wouldn’t expect anything less from two of the most LOL-inducing women in Hollywood.
