Jennifer Garner proves that a cape and fringe can be business casual

Business casual is often synonymous with “boring,” but it doesn’t have to be that way. We believe you can look cool and professional at the same time if you pay attention to the details. Case in point: Jennifer Garner wore a cape and fringed dress that would both look as at-home in a boardroom as they did on the red carpet. This outfit makes us want to change out of yoga pants, and that’s no easy feat.

InStyle points out that Garner wore the same sharply tailored Givenchy cape in 2016 as well.

We praised it for being goth chic when paired with her velvet bodice gown, but looked entirely different in the midst of this 2017 ensemble. Everyone could use a topper this versatile in their wardrobe.

Garner layered the cape over a strapless dress with a sequined bodice that flared out into an explosion of fringe. The sequins on the dress are maybe a bit glitzy for daytime, but fringe and a menswear-inspired jacket? That combination is suitable at any hour.

There is nothing safer than wearing all-black for work, but you can still have fun if you play with texture. Garner demonstrates it perfectly here.

The actress has classic-meets-quirky style and her latest outfit is edgier than her usual vibe. Yet somehow, she managed to seem relatable when wearing head-to-toe designer labels — though Daily Mail notes that she wore a pair of sneakers on her way home from the event. Who hasn’t been the woman in a fancy gown and a pair of trainers after a long night of high heels?
