Jennifer Garner just addressed that rumor about Ben Affleck and their nanny

We were all a little heartbroken last June when Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck announced they were divorcing. They’d been married ten years, and for some reason they seemed different than most Hollywood couples. The photos we saw of them showed the two doing things like going out for chill coffee dates and hitting up the playground or farmer’s market with their three adorable children. They almost felt like the couple next door.

So yes, we took it kind of hard. Then a nanosecond after the split was announced, we started hearing rumors about Affleck and the family’s nanny. Ugh.

For ten long months, Jennifer Garner has remained silent on the subject. Not that we blame her. It’s her life, after all. And one of the things we love most about Garner is what a class act she is. We admire the way she’s handled the past year. Big time. Honestly, we sometimes wonder how she did it. Bow down!

It wasn’t easy. Of course it wasn’t. In this month’s issue of Vanity Fair, Garner finally opened up about her split from Affleck, and she gets brutally honest about how difficult it’s been for her and those three cute kids of theirs.

Garner says it’s been a “year of wine,” which we SO understand. Personally, if I’d watched my relationship implode on the cover of every newspaper in the country, I’d be in bed for a year with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. But it sounds like Garner is doing great, all things considering. She even set the record straight on those awful nanny rumors.

“Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives,” she said. Garner went on to say that because of the whole nanny thing, she’s had to have some serious talks with her kids about what a “scandal” is, which is pretty sad.

Hopefully, this will put all the nanny questions to rest and let Garner get on with her life and continue being the awesome mom and overall amazing woman that she is. We’re rooting for you, Jen. We always have, and we always will.
