Jennifer Aniston just said something kinda shocking about ‘The Rachel’ haircut

Celebs may look totally perfect on the red carpet, but that “effortless” look takes a ton of work behind-the-scenes, as hair queen Jennifer Aniston has said herself about her own hair. It turns out the same goes for TV, because Jennifer just admitted that the famous Friends hairstyle that we all coveted oh so much — “The Rachel” — was actually a majorly annoying haircut.

As a part of The Telegraph‘s “My Beauty Life” series, Jennifer spoke about all things beauty, and inevitably, the conversation turned to Friends. “When I first met Chris McMillan, my hairstylist, at his salon in LA, he sat me down and gave me a fantastic haircut,” she said. “About a month later he gave me what became known through Friends as ‘The Rachel.’”

However, although Jen loved the cut as much as we did initially, she soon discovered that it’s pretty much the highest maintenance cut ever. “I had to see him every six weeks to keep this darn thing up, though, because it was a ‘hairdo,’” she explained. “It was a pain in the butt, to be honest, one of the hardest hairstyles to maintain, unless Chris did it.”

But she still looked totally fabulous with the cut, didn’t she? Jennifer didn’t think so, actually! “I’ve got very thick, full hair so it would take on a shape of its own that I didn’t always want,” she said. “I don’t think I looked very good with it. . .I look back on Farah Fawcett’s legendary [1970s] hairdo and think, that was beautiful. But ‘The Rachel’? Ugh, not so much.”

Well, we think you looked gorgeous, Jen — but then again, we think you look perfect no matter what style you rock.
