Jennifer Aniston is People’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2016
Jennifer Aniston has still got it. For the second time, she has officially been named PEOPLE’s 2016 World’s Most Beautiful Woman. It’s a fitting title, because she’s obviously gorgeous, but she’s just as beautiful on the inside. And let’s be real — she has seriously barely aged since she first came into our lives on a weekly basis circa 1994.
The 47-year-old star of Mother’s Day spoke to PEOPLE about life and being named the Most Beautiful Woman. She said she was “very, very flattered.”
“I thought, ‘Oh my God,’” she said. “There was this sort of very excited, teenage-y kind of moment.”
Fittingly, she touched on her idea of what it means to be be beautiful. She defined beauty as having “inner confidence,” “peace” and “kindness,” and said that working out makes her feel beautiful. And we love that.
Over the years, she has grown to love her body and embrace her appearance, and feels her best when she’s healthy and fit.
“It’s funny, it’s a really quick transition from not a care and now all of a sudden, we’ve got to really be mindful of what we put inside our bodies,” she adds. “And how we sleep and take care of ourselves. You can get away with a lot in your 20s.”
And speaking of her 20s, when she was fumbling through her very own, he was told she was too “chubby” for a role, and that’s when she made the decision to start eating a healthy diet.
“I was like, ‘What?!’ But my diet was terrible,” Aniston said. “Milk shakes and French fries with gravy [laughs]. It was a good thing to start paying attention.” While we do not support body shaming and feel terribly that Aniston was made to feel like her body wasn’t goo enough for a role, we’re happy that Aniston took this criticism in a positive way and decided to make healthier choices for her well-being (rather than her weight).
But since she met husband Justin Theroux, her strict diet has gone to the wayside a bit. Like, a teeny tiny tad bit. Mainly because he cooks a mean pasta carbonara.
And speaking of her husband, she just couldn’t help but gush over him. And we definitely don’t blame her!
“He makes me laugh,” she said. “He’s so interesting and so interested. He’s unbelievably talented in more areas than one and he’s just a good man.”
The actress is also heavily involved in charity organizations and gives back to the community in so many ways. In 2008 she advocated for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and in 2010 Aniston donated $500,000 to the Haiti relief appeal, which supported organizations like Doctors Without Borders and Partners in Health. According to Look to the Stars, Aniston recently signed bear for an auction that supports Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
We’re so happy to see Aniston so happy. She’s well deserving of all the good things in her life, including being the most beautiful woman in all of Earth.
