Why did Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux separate? Here’s what we know

And the hits just keep on coming. On February 15th, the Associated Press reported that, after two years of marriage, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have announced they are separating. The outlet reports that Jennifer and Justin “say their split was ‘mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.’” This comes four days after Jennifer’s birthday (February 11th), which People reports the actress celebrated in Malibu, California, with loved ones such as fellow Friends actress Courteney Cox. As for Justin, well, he was not with Jennifer, and was instead seen walking his dog in New York City.

Jennifer’s publicist, Stephen Huvane, released the following statement from the former couple:

“Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.

Now, why exactly did Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux decide to split?

As of right now, Jennifer and Justin have not commented on the reason for their separation — and honestly, it’s none of our business. Though they are celebrities, they are still people who deserve privacy. We imagine they’re processing the end of this partnership and marriage, and they should be able to do so with our respect.

We are currently sending Jennifer and Justin nothing but love. We wish them both the best during this time.
