Jenna Dewan Tatum opens up about how she and Channing first got together, and it involves a sombrero
Among all the celeb couples we know and love, there’s just something special about Jenna Dewan Tatum and her hubby Channing. Every so often they individually drop gorgeously romantic photos on Instagram, and the fact that they met as co-stars in Step Up is like a straight-up fairytale.
In the January issue of Cosmo, Jenna got real about life with Channing and revealed the moment when they first got together IRL while filming the movie.
Quick warning: it’ll make your heart melt! Oh, and it’s relatable AF. Apparently, Channing had just gotten our of a serious relationship. So even though the pair had an obvious on-set attraction, Jenna let him know that she didn’t think jumping into anything was a good idea.
"It was two nights of being weird. We hadn’t even kissed. And then he went out partying with a bunch of dancers. His room was right above mine, and he came down drunk with a sombrero on, banging on my door."
And obviously, if Channing Tatum is banging on your door (sombrero or not)…YOU OPEN IT!
"He was like, 'I couldn’t stop thinking about you. Let’s do this. I just want to be with you.' From that point forward, we were together."
Awwwwwwwwww. And now all these years later, Tatum and Dewan are a beautiful married couple.
With an impossibly cute addition to the family: their spirited daughter Everly! They even want to eventually show their daughter Step Up, to explain where and how they fell in love. Awwww! Stop it, guys!
Just kidding; don’t stop anything. We love hearing from you both, and can’t wait for the moment when Everly gets to fully experience and understand the story of how her parents met.
Also…can’t help but wonder if Jenna managed to snap a photo of Channing in that sombrero… ?!
