Jenna Dewan Tatum looks AMAZING with bangs but there’s a crazy catch
Pretty much all women who have never had bangs want them, and that includes celebrities like Jenna Dewan Tatum. At some point or another in their lives, bang-desirers might work up enough courage to actually cut their hair and make some bangs (professionally, let’s not get crazy.)
However, there’s usually an aftermath.
Perhaps they’ll enjoy having bangs for a little while, but once those suckers start growing out, there’s no telling what they’ll look like or how they’ll be able to be controlled.
Which is why faux bangs are becoming super popular among women who want bangs, but only temporarily. Because let’s be real — if you’ve never had them, you really don’t know if you’ll like them or not. And that’s some risky business.
Jenna Dewan Tatum is the latest celeb to faux bang herself.
Her hairstylist Kristin Ess posted a photo of the actress rocking her temporary bangs, and of course she looks incredible.
"I'm gonna bang everyone," she captioned the photo. "Wait... 😳 Jk, but really how chic is the JDT with her Helena Christiansen vibes!? 👑 A-line soft shag w bangs by moi! {glam fan 👨👨👧👧 @allanface, @bradgoreski, @christinaviles} #jennadewan"
Ess explained to PEOPLE why and how the bangs came about.
“So, she has wanted a bang forever," Ess said. "I feel like she’s been asking me to make her a fake bang for about two years. We finally did it!"
However, as you can probably imagine, Jenna Dewan Tatum achieving the perfect faux bang wasn’t as easy as just adding a clip-on.
“Brad Goreski dressed her in this incredible white jumpsuit situation and the whole thing felt very ’70s chic," Ess added "Once we saw her own hair with a full bang, it just looked too heavy, so we razored it into a soft shag with an A-line base.
And as far as the products used on the most perfect faux bangs?
“Product wise, it was prepped with Oribe thickening spray, dried with an Elchim dryer and a Spornette porcupine round brush, then very loosely bent with the 1 1/4-in. Marcel iron, she said. “Last I scrunched in some lightweight curl creme (of which I can’t exactly give you the name yet!). That gives it a more natural, tousled, airdried looking finish.
Faux bangs can be done without the help of a professional, but probably only if you know what you’re doing (unlike us). Aaaand now we want to cut our hair.
